Meet some of the people we serve.
Forward House is a wonderful place for special needs adults, very supportive and attentive for families of special needs adults, as well! they made transition for our family member a bit less stressful thus giving us peace of mind! Loving, caring and very professional staff!
“I am very thankful for forward house and their team of workers who have helped Donavich come a long way in his life to improve his self esteem, getting along with others, his workers and trying to be independent and bringing a quality of life.
“Our brother has been part of Forward House for 19 years. The way he has been treated and the supports they provide to him are exceptional! We have yearly meetings with our brother and the staff to review his achievements, activities, and his year and discuss what he would enjoy in the future. They are always looking for fun things for him to do and helping him to grow and learn new things year after year. Through the pandemic, we didn’t know how our brother would react as his schedule is very important to him but the staff at Forward House were able to keep him busy during lock downs and made it more enjoyable for him. We couldn’t recommend a better agency for your family!”
Forward House has supported me for the last 4 years. I’m very thankful and beyond grateful for the support workers I’ve had. They have gone out of their way for me no matter what, I appreciate them beyond any words! The one I would like to thank the most is Rachel, she’s helped me so much with everything! I couldn’t imagine my life without all of you! You guys have helped so many different people including myself! You guys are the absolute best at what you do, because you actually care! Thank you guys for absolutely everything, you guys are wonderful people. Please never stop caring!
One of the most difficult decisions my husband and I had to make was moving Stuart into a supported living environment. As hard as it was, we knew we could no longer provide the level of care Stuart needs and deserves.
We were fortunate when an intensive residential placement became available at Forward House of London. Since moving in, Stuart has found an extended family among the staff and his housemates. He now takes part in a variety of community activities that enrich his life and bring him joy. The staff at Forward House have taken Stuart to many fun and engaging outings, including bowling, swimming, and even a trampoline park.
One of my favourite experiences was joining Stuart and his staff for the Halloween Haunt at Fanshawe Pioneer Village—it was a wonderful memory I’ll always cherish.
What stands out most is how dedicated the staff are in fostering Stuart’s independence while respecting his needs and preferences. Stuart is treated like family, and we are grateful for the care and kindness he is shown, and the support he receives while at Forward House.
“I love forward house because they support me well and I have good staff. I have my own apartment and get to do activities that I like, like hutton house music class, the Halloween run, going to Tim Hortons and having BBQs at the house in the summer with my family and friends.
Scott L
Passport SupportsWhen Scott was asked what he thinks about being supported by Forward House, he said, “ I like it. Staff help with my money, going to Tim Horton’s, and going to the casino. I like my staff they are all very nice! (My best memories are) the Forward House Christmas parties and that I got to dress up like Santa and hand out the presents..”
